The CSI Atlanta Board of Directors and Committee members contribute so much to our chapter’s success. Serving as part of the board, as a committee head or committee member is a great way to get to know your fellow CSI’ers and let your voice be heard! Currently all Board and Committee Chair positions are full; however, we’d love to have you on any of our social, program and/or sponsorship tech committees! Check out our contact page for more information on how to connect.

President

Hours Required: 
During planning time (July -August) prior to the first meeting in September, expect 15-20 hours a month. Once the year kicks off, plan on 5-10 hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events. 

Experience:
Must serve in the President- Elect position prior to taking on role of Chapter President 

Duties Include:

  • Acts as head of the Board of Directors
  • Works closely with Secretary to schedule and plan once a month Board meetings
  • Works with Board of Directors to set priorities and goals for the chapter during the annual summer planning session
  • Works with the Treasurer to ensure a clear, concise and realistic budget for the fiscal year
  • Works with the Program Director to understand and assist with plans for the monthly dinner program
  • Works with the Social Director to understand and assist with plans for upcoming special events and activites.
  • Works with the Communication and Website chair to ensure the chapter has effective communication and plans for the needs of its current and potential members
  • Works with the Sponsorship and Tech Session Directors to understand and assist with benefits programs for chapter sponsors and chapter financial support goals. 
  • Represents the chapter at the Region and National level when required.
  • Works with other Board members to understand and plan for additional chapter goals.

Hospitality Chair or Co-Chair

Hours Required:
2-3 hours a month plus attending monthly meetings and events.

Evperience:
None
Successful candidate will have good organization and communication skills

Duties Include:

  • Coordinating dates of meetings and number of attendees each month with the hotel as well as any special dietary needs or changes to service.
  • Responsible for communicating any special events that are held at the Sonesta that require heavy h’orderves versus regular table service, or any changes to the set-up of the rooms for meetings.
  • Will coordinate with Programs Chair and Special Events Chair to ensure food and beverage service coordinate with any additional needs or changes to table tops or room space. 

President- Elect

Hours Required:
You will work with the current President in order to understand required duties and responsibilities, attending all board meetings if possible. 5-10 hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events.

Experience: 
While prior experience on the BOD isn’t required it is highly recommended. Successful candidates for Chapter President will benefit from serving on the Board in other positions for at least two years prior to taking on this role. 

Duties Include:

  • Works with the current President to ensure understanding of responsibilities and a smooth transition from one President to the next.
  • Attends and participates in monthly board meetings and annual planning sessions.
  • Works with other Board members and Committee Chairs to understand how to support them as President the next year. 
  • Will fill the role of President immediately if the current President vacates his/her role due to unforeseen circumstances. 

Vice-President

Hours Required:
1-2 hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events

Experience:
None

Duties Include:

  • Fill in for President if he or she is unavailable
  • Work with and support the current President and President-Elect
  • Work with and support the Program Director and committee
  • Work with and support all officers and committee chairs

Immediate Past President

Hours Required: 
As Immediate Past President, you will attend Board meeting once a month, and can have as active as a role as you’d like. Hours can vary between 1-10 hours a month, plus attending meetings and events. 

Experience: 
President-Elect and President

Duties Include:

  • Supporting the current President and President-Elect
  • Acting as an advisor to the Board of Directors and Committee Chairs.
  • Attends monthly board and chapter meetings 

Secretary

Hours Required:
If you’re able to type notes during each Board meeting and use the agenda template, should be 2-3 hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events

Experience:
None
Successful candidates will have
good organization and communication skills as well as attention to detail

Duties Include:

  • Records notes at each monthly Board meeting
  • Work with President on creating agenda prior to Board meeting
  • Sends out virtual board meeting invites when needed

Treasurer

Hours Required:
2-3 hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events

Experience:
None
Successful candidates will have
good organization and communication skills as well as financial accumen
Must know excel, PayPal and the basics of electronic banking

Duties Include:

  • Fiduciary responsibility to the chapter members and chapter BOD
  • Provide monthly bank statements and a financial report detailing current and projected expenses and income
  • Receive information from CSI National with regard to membership dues owed to the chapter. Upon receipt dues will be transferred from Bill Highway into the Chapter’s main operating account
  • Monies collected from sponsors, guests and non-members attending monthly meeting, event sponsors and any fees members are charged for attending events or special joint events will be held in the Chapter’s main operating account to cover expenses. Monies collected through PayPal, constant contact, Venmo, Zell, or any other electronic method that the Chapter uses, will be transferred to the Chapter’s main operating account upon receipt.
  • Pays Chapter expenses included but not limited to hotel charges for monthly meetings, insurance and CPA expenses, funds allocated for President to attend Regional and/or National conference, PO Box and storage unit rental, social event venue rental, catering, advertising, marketing and website expenses associated with and for the benefit of the CSI Atlanta Chapter.

Director at Large

Hours Required:
1-4 hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events

Experience:
None

Duties Include:

  • Attend all monthly Board meetings
  • Support the Board officers, other Directors and Committee Chairs
  • Participate in monthly chapter meetings and events

Membership Chair and/or Co-Chair

Hours Required:
3-4 hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events

Experience:
None
Successful candidate will have a disposition towards hospitality and welcoming all members and guests

Duties Include:

  • Head up the Membership Committee
  • Organize and plan an effective strategy to invite and engage with potential and current members.
  • Implement a new or existing welcome package for new members and guests at our monthly meetings.
  • Update Board members on current roster numbers at the monthly meetings
  • Apprise the President, Communication, Social Media and Website Chair of each new member joining, so that they can be added to e-blasts and invited to join the CSI Atlanta social media groups.
  • Plan a budget for the membership program as a whole and for any member recruitment efforts.
  • Organize and plan for membership committee meetings outside of the monthly Board meetings if needed.
  • Membership chair and committee will man the registration table at all monthly meetings to get members, guests and potential members checked-in and registered. 
  • Membership chair will also track 1st time guests that are non-members so that after their first visit, they will be charged for dinner if they don’t join as a member of CSI Atlanta.

Website Chair or Co-Chairs

Hours Required:
3-5 Hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events 

Experience: 
WordPress and Elementor Experience preferred but not required. Constant contact experience preferred but not required. Current website Director/Chair will train. Successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, creativity and a comfortability with web design and constant contact.

Duties Include:

  • Update website in a timely fashion to reflect the upcoming monthly meeting program information including bio and head shot of speakers, presentation or tech session course description. 
  • Update website to include any sponsor graphics including logos and links to their website if applicable (depends on sponsorship level)
  • Communicate any tech session or speaker details should you receive them first to the communications and social media chair for e-blast and social updates 
  • Update the website on a regular basis with the latest constant contact registration link so members can register their attendance for monthly dinner meeting or special events. 
  • Ensure all standard content on the CSI Atlanta website is up-to-date and reflects current Board members and events.
  • Works closely with the Communications, Program Director, Social Events Chair and Social Media Chair to ensure consistent messaging to members, the Board and all other Committee Chairs.

Communications Chair or Co-Chairs

Hours Required:
3-5 Hours a month, plus attending monthly meetings and events.

Experience:
Constant contact experience preferred but not required. Current Communications Chair will train.

Duties Include: 

  • Create the registration landing page and registration systems within constant contact for monthly meetings and any special events including but not limited to the Spring Fling and Holiday social.
  • Update all e-blast communications with sponsor logos, linkbacks and any project or product spotlight information required for upper sponsorship levels.
  • Send weekly or bi-weekly e-blasts with a link for members to register for the meeting, as well as announcing the speakers and tech sessions for upcoming meeting.
  • Announce new members to membership through e-blasts
  • Works closely with Website Director/Chair, Social Event Chair, Social Media Chair and Program Director. 

CSI Foundation Director

Hours Required: 
3-5 Hours a month plus attending monthly meetings and events

Experience: 
None
Successful candidate will have a heart for philanthropy in supporting students and emerging professionals through scholarships and grants. 

Duties Include: 

  • Act as liason for the Atlanta CSI Foundation Board to the CSI Atlanta Chapter BOD
  • Review and award scholarships and grants annually to students in qualifying areas of study in Georgia colleges, and CSI members that want to study and test for their CDT certification or attend a regional or national event. 

Special Events Committee Chair or Co-Chairs

Hours Required: 
5-12 Hours a month
10-15 month before an event, plus attending monthly meetings and events.

Experience: 
None
Successful candidate will be organized, a creative thinker, and have a heart for hospitality, fun activity ideas and themes. 

Duties Include:

  • Work with Communications, Social Media and Website Chairs to develop advertising and marketing for special events such as the spring fling and holiday party.
  • Work with Sponsorship Chair and Treasurer to look for event specific sponsors and develop a benefit package for each level. 
  • Work with Hospitality Chair to plan any event that will utilize the Sonesta hotel as the location. 
  • Work with the Social committee to reserve an event space, organize catering, bar services and any activities for the social event attendees to enjoy. 
  • Help with the monthly meeting registration table of Membership Chair or a member of the membership committee isn’t available. 

Sponsorship and Tech Session Chair or Co-Chairs

Hours Required:
5-10 hours a month prior to 1st September meeting. 1-4 hours a month after planning period has ended, plus attending monthly meetings and events

Experience: 
None
Successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills

Duties Include:

  • Develop a benefit package that will appeal to potential sponsors for our chapter
  • Work with the Communication, Website and Social Media Chair and Social Committee Chair to promote, advertise and follow-through with benefit implementation for all levels of sponsors.
  • Work with Communications Chair to send e-blast reminders specifically to upper level sponsors on deadlines for submitting project or product spotlight information, table reservations for each meeting, etc. 
  • Create a campaign to actively recruit and reach out to companies that are potential sponsors. 
  • Develop a form letter/email that the CSI Atlanta BOD and Committee heads can use easily to also recruit sponsors from their own professional networks.
